ABOUT THE GENESIS MODEL

Overview

The Genesis Model of Psychology is a comprehensive therapeutic framework that integrates scriptural principles with evidence-based clinical practices. Founded on the narrative arc of Genesis—from Creation through the Fall to ultimate Restoration—this model provides a roadmap for authentic identity recovery and psychological healing.

Core Premise

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." — Jeremiah 1:5

You were not an accident. Your two parents' DNA did not simply create you; God used their design to fulfill His divine blueprint. Even if your beginnings were messy or painful, you are not a mistake—you are a mission.

1. CREATION → Original Design and Purpose

Understanding that you were intentionally designed with divine purpose. Just as God formed Adam from the dust, what seems common becomes consecrated. We help clients explore how their "origin story" shaped their self-concept and begin rewriting it through the lens of divine purpose.

Therapeutic Focus:

  • Identifying your Genesis Map—your birth, family context, and early influences

  • Discovering God's fingerprints even in broken places

  • Uncovering your unique created identity

The Four-Phase Framework

2. FALL → Trauma, Distortion, and Survival Adaptations

Imposter syndrome originates from separation—from self, purpose, and God. Just as Adam hid after realizing his nakedness, people today hide behind performance, perfectionism, and comparison. They cover themselves with "fig leaves" of success, credentials, or overachievement to mask perceived deficiency.

Therapeutic Focus:

  • Identifying your "fig leaves"—what you're using to prove your worth or mask your pain

  • Understanding how trauma and pain have shaped protective adaptations · Recognizing the "state of the land reflects the state of the people" principle

3. REDEMPTION → Awareness and Intervention

In Genesis 50:20, Joseph reframed his trauma: "What you meant for evil, God meant for good." The same pit that humiliated him became the platform for his promotion. Trauma holds coded instruction—keys forged in pain that equip you to open doors for others.

Therapeutic Focus:

  • The Keys from the Pit—transforming "Why me?" into "What is this training me to lead?"

  • Understanding that your trauma is an asset, not just a wound

  • Developing awareness of patterns and cycles that keep you stuck

4. RESTORATION → Healing and Realignment

When clients numb, avoid, or run, they aren't escaping pain—they're abandoning their purpose. To heal imposter syndrome and identity confusion, they must confront the truth: "You were born for this." Authenticity is restoration—the realignment between divine design and lived identity.

Therapeutic Focus:

  • Returning to your authentic, divinely-designed self

  • Living from alignment rather than performance

  • Stepping into your purpose with confidence
